Requiem for a car
My Honda, ‘Black Beauty’
Pulchritudinous in name only yet
Holding memories so dear.
For twenty years I’ve known her
For ten I’ve owned her
Lived with her, loved within her
Spent time, abused and bruised her
Tended her and mended her
Cursed and caressed,
And loved in the end.
A bed, a chariot
A moveable concert
A museum, a school,
A feast on wheels,
Mechanical campfire,
My freedom angel.
